Wow! The bean pie is nothing like a pumpkin or sweet potato pie. It has a creamy consistency, great crust, and a light flavor most similar to a Drake’s coffee cake mixed with a nice light custard flavor. I cannot believe that I have lived my life without one of these pies. It is simply amazing. These are exceptional pies, be sure to try one. And if you have never had bean pie, just try it. You can thank me later.
Having heard about but never having tried a bean pie, I searched for a place to try one. Well, locally I had no luck, but luckily, I came across Shaba’s on the web. I read everything on the site and watched the videos.
I then ordered three 6 inch bean pies and three 6 inch sweet potato pies.
The delivery was amazingly quick and surprisingly inexpensive. I received email updates each step of the way. They arrived in a few days, intact, wrapped nicely, and so fresh.
The 6 inch pies are the perfect size for a snack or a midnight refrigerator raid.
As for the sweet potato pie, it was perhaps the most authentic one I have ever had. Unlike bean pie, I have had A LOT of sweet potato pies, from all over the country. Shaba’s pie was sweet potato-y but not too sweet. Great crust and nice consistency. Delicious!
My favorite I cannot order another pie without ordering my bean pie first.
